“But
may all who seek you, rejoice and be
glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, “The Lord is
great!” (Psalm 70:4).
The
sun begins to crest just below the horizon line. The appearing colors of the
morning are beginning to form. These are
the colors that are not seen during the day.
The colors of the morning are sometimes mirrored in the evening but rarely
are these vibrant colors seen during the day.
We know the colors of the morning and the evening have to do with atmospheric
particles, light, refraction, scattering and even pollution or the lack of
contaminants in the air. Light travels
in the morning and is fading in the evening and as it does … filtering, releasing, refracting, scattering, bending and countless
other factors and consequences are either holding back or contributing to the
colors that we are amazed with as we witness their intensity and brilliance.
Pages
and pages of factual data could be written to explain the colors of the morning
and we might never appreciate or even read all the explanations, reasons and material. We
like the visual because it delights our senses.
It is what we see and it swallows up most other thoughts as it overwhelms
us. God is in the details of light, in every facet and every cause and effect
of light because He created light. We can
thank and praise Him for the beauty we see in the colors of the sky but He is
far greater than what we see.
Delight
in the colors of the sun in the morning and the evening. Bask in their beauty and intensity. As you remember all the facts and facets behind
the colors that you see, remember to thank you Father in heaven and His Son for
all you cannot see. He gave us far more than the colors our eyes enjoy. It is the same in our salvation … there is
far more unseen in what we are given than the blessings we can see around us and upon us. We simply cannot comprehend or understand even
as we amazed and overwhelmed at the colors we see … we can only be thankful.
Heavenly
Father … I thank you for the beauty in the colors of the sun and I thank you even
more for my precious salvation which overwhelms me with the indescribable colors found in Your Son, my Lord and Savior. I
praise you for all that I cannot see or comprehend that comes from You in grace
and love. Dear Father … all that You are
and all that give … is beyond me. I thank
you ... thank you in the name of Jesus my Lord, Amen.
“Such
knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it” (Psalm 139:6
ESV).
