“Though
I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth
thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for
ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands” (Psalm 139:7-8 KJV).
We do not know the trouble ahead of us
on any given day. We do not know where we may slip with our difficult to tame
tongue, fall to a temptation we have resisted many times before, judge when we
should have compassion or be merciless when we should give mercy. On the other
hand, we do not know that even in following our Lord faithfully through difficult situations, illnesses and
circumstances as we trust, yield and obey Him: that we may not still encounter pain, loss,
persecution, heartache or ridicule.
Our relationship with God through Jesus
Christ cannot be severed by our individual failures and sins because it is
secured forever by our crucified Lord on the cross. Nor can circumstances or situations …
whatever the duration or outcome, crush us completely. In all our days, His grace
will come and flow in abundant resurrection empowered sufficiency to carry us through all things by His hand.
All our days are truly His … we just need to let Him redeem and empower
them.
“Being
confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will
perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6 KJV).
